Sequential Narrative: Concept Idea

I was thinking of illustrating/depicting an orphaned child who was never adopted. I would show the process of his aging in isolation. Living and dying alone. Never knowing love, only ever experiencing emotional "solitary confinement". Maybe a do a flipbook/animated gif/ graphic novel of this child aging in the "empty vacuum" of space, drifting endlessly without interaction. When I imagine this, I don't really imagine myself using live images, I imagine doing the man as an illustration (if allowed), then editing that vectorized sketch into an environment in photoshop. I want to make a sequential narrative where there is no happy moment.
